Sync and mobile

Choose a vault sync method for your devices and keep Obsibrain files and settings available on mobile.

Your Obsibrain vault is a folder of files in Obsidian. Obsibrain does not run a sync service. To use the same vault on another device, choose a sync method that works on both devices.

Choose a sync method

  • Obsidian Sync works across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. It requires an Obsidian Sync subscription and can sync vault configuration when you enable those options.
  • iCloud Drive works for a Mac, iPhone, and iPad setup. Keep the vault inside iCloud Drive’s Obsidian folder on mobile. Obsidian does not recommend iCloud Drive on Windows.
  • Other methods include OneDrive, Google Drive, Syncthing, and Git. Device support differs: OneDrive and Google Drive do not provide an officially supported iPhone or iPad vault setup. Git requires manual push and pull. Check Obsidian’s guide before choosing one.

Use one sync method for a vault. Wait for it to finish before editing the vault on another device. Keep a separate backup; sync can copy deletions and conflicts too.

Sync Obsibrain with the vault

Notes, tasks, templates, review files, and dashboard content live in the vault. The Obsibrain plugin and its settings must also be available on each device.

If you use Obsidian Sync, open Settings → Sync → Vault configuration sync on each device. Enable Installed community plugin list and Active community plugin list; these are off by default. Obsidian explains these settings. With another method, check whether it transfers the vault’s .obsidian configuration folder and plugin files.

On the new device, wait for sync to finish, restart Obsidian, and confirm that Obsibrain is installed and enabled. Check that your templates, reviews, and Dashboard.md appear. If prompted, activate the license on that device with your purchase email and key.

Use the vault on mobile

Obsibrain’s core workflows run on iOS and Android. The V1 importer and AI Alpha require desktop. On mobile, use the command palette for actions such as Open Daily Planning and Add Tasks and Habits.
