Daily planning
Open today's review, choose work, and use the default plan, reflection, and look-ahead sections.
On this page
Run Open Daily Planning to open today’s note. If it does not exist, Obsibrain creates it from your Daily template. Daily notes use reviews/1-daily/YYYY-MM-DD.md.
New Daily Planning offers available dates around today. Its list omits dates that already have notes and respects the start date in Obsibrain settings.
Plan the day
The default Plan section contains scheduled meetings, overdue tasks, due tasks, scheduled tasks, habits, and ongoing work. It reads those items from your vault.
Choose the tasks you intend to work on and set their scheduled dates. A due date expresses the deadline; a scheduled date expresses the plan. Tasks stay in their original notes.
Use the task action in the daily note or run Add Tasks and Habits to capture more work. Use New Meeting when a conversation needs a scheduled note.
Look back and ahead
The default Look back section shows completed tasks and notes created or updated in the period. Answer its reflection prompts in ordinary Markdown.
Look ahead contains task and meeting views for the week, plus open goals and projects. Use that context to choose the next action rather than duplicate every project task in the daily note.
Change future daily notes
Edit templates/obsibrain/Daily.md to change future daily plans. Existing notes keep their content. Add or remove widgets and rewrite the prompts to fit your routine.
If the daily commands disappear, check Settings → Obsibrain → Review Cycles. A disabled daily cycle hides its commands and widgets. Existing daily notes remain in the vault.
For a broader review, use the weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly cycles.
