Dashboard and widgets

Adapt the root dashboard and add native views through the widget library or Markdown blocks.

On this page

Run Open Dashboard to open Dashboard.md at the vault root. The dashboard is ordinary Markdown with native Obsibrain blocks. Edit its headings, notes, links, and view order directly.

Obsibrain preserves an existing dashboard. If the root file is missing, Open Dashboard creates its default content.

Add a widget

  1. Open the note you want to change.
  2. Open the Obsibrain widget library from its grid icon or command palette entry.
  3. Choose a widget from the catalogue for that note.
  4. Drag it into the editor on desktop, or select Add.

Add inserts at the available editor cursor. Without an active editor, it appends the widget to the note. This gives mobile and reading-mode use a direct insertion action.

Catalogues depend on the active note. Project notes offer project progress. Goal notes offer goal progress. Review notes offer views suited to their period. A disabled review cycle does not offer its review widgets.

To repeat the same layout in future notes, edit the corresponding creation template.
