Yes and no, you can absolutely migrate data from an old Obsidian vault to the Obsibrain one but this comes with manual actions from your part to be sure that everything is working properly:
- Ensure to move ALL your files first in the notes folder.
- Then, if you previously had any P.A.R.A. files (Projects, Areas, or Resources), please use the dedicated Obsibrain commands and templates to recreate them. This ensures they receive the correct metadata and appear in your dashboards. You can then simply copy and paste the content from your old notes into these new, “smart” notes.
- Ensure that any previously used plugins are added to Obsibrain and everything is compatible.
Alternatively, you can use Obsidian’s built-in “Open another vault” feature.
